You don't always have to go for the wide angle landscape shot. Just look around you, up above or down around your feet, and you will find detail shots that can be just as good. I came across this tree when I was out shooting fall colors, and even though it had bright leaves I knew I wanted to go black and white to enhance that shape of the backlit tree branches. It almost looks like black ink spilled across paper to me. Shot with Canon EOS M & 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 @ 20mm f/5.6, 1/60.
I just love photographing larger birds such as this egret. This image was shot with Canon 7D & Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.3 @500mm f/6.3, 1/2000.
